Field Services Engineer - Mission Voice CommunicationsID2022-4616CategoryITTypeRegular Full-TimeLocation : LocationUS-CO-Colorado SpringsTelecommuteNoClearance RequirementsSecretOverviewFTI is seeking a Field Services Engineer for Mission Voice Communications tosupport the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) onSchriever Space Force Base in Colorado. FTI provides range support servicesfor ballistic and hypersonic test missions at DoD, NASA, and other agencyranges around the world. We cover mission planning, networks and systemsengineering, telemetry, data and voice communications, logistics, andcybersecurity aspects of missile testing.This position will require that you monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, andupdate voice and data communications systems to meet mission requirements. Youmust be available to travel up to 50% and maintain a valid US Passport, aswell as possess a current DoD SECRET level security clearance.This position requires travel to land and sea-based locations includingPacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) on Kauai HI, Reagan Test Site(RTS) on Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands, Wake Island, and MDA'stest support vessels the Pacific Collector and Pacific Tracker. Trip durationsare dependent on customer test mission schedules which can change with shortnotice, normally lasting between 2 and 4 weeks. Total trips per year arealso dependent on customer schedules, and average between 4 and 8.ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance and upgrade of networks, including servers, routers,switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network managementsystems. Monitor network connectivity and ensure high quality datatransmission. Provide technical support to various departments and users withregards to LAN/MAN/WAN (local/metropolitan/wide area networks) andcloud-based networks (e.g., VPN and BoD). Serve as a liaison withvendors and other third-party providers.Additional Responsibilities include:Configure, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and supportmission voice systems from vendors such as Clear-Com and Compunetix includingon-console support during test eventsConfigure and secure enterprise services, routers, switches,firewalls, and access controlsAdminister systems running Windows and Linux operating systemsPerform equipment installs, configuration updates, and troubleshootingactions at remote sitesManage analog voice communications systems across multiple locationsRoute encrypted data between various ranges and sitesAccomplish pre-mission communication checks and voice instrument configurationverificationMaintain and update systems and patches to comply with Risk ManagementFramework (RMF) Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM)requirementsManage inventory and movement of government property with associateddocumentationEducation/QualificationsBachelor's degree in an engineering related technical field with 4+ yearsof directly related experience. Without a BS degree, 8+ years directlyrelated experience (High School diploma is required)Current Security+ or similar certificate qualifying you for DoD Directive8570.01 IAT Level IIDesired experience:1-2 years of experience in configuring, troubleshooting and maintainingcommunication systems.1-2 years of experience in supporting network devices such as routers,switches, and firewalls.Experience performing Network, Windows, and/or Linux administration inan enclave or enterprise environmentCurrent Computing Environment certificate for Window, Linux, or networkingExperience with MS Office and MS VisioExperience with network analysis tools such as SolarWinds and WhatsUp GoldManagement of government property inventories, associated documentation,and understanding of reporting requirements for tracked IT assetsPrior Help Desk or other direct user support servicePrior US Military service with field deployment experienceFamiliarity with DoD test ranges such as PMRF, Kauai HI, and RTSKwajalein, Marshall Is.Good written, oral, and listening skill
