The Junior MQ/Middleware System administer will provide key input and support into technical designs for a variety of projects. Responsible for the implementation of all changes to Middleware components, from request for change or project initiation through to deployment and review, to supporting the continued availability, effectiveness and risk compliance of the infrastructure. Takes responsibility for completing tasks, focusing on requirements and planning to meet client needs, which the job holder helps to identify, advice and recommend technical solutions based on experience and Industry knowledge.
Key duties include:
- Reporting to MQ/Middleware Task Lead
- Provide 24x7x365 integration support for all Middleware components (including networking) and supported applications interfaces, including but not limited to MQ/Data Power support products (commercial-off-the-shelf and proprietary)
- Support efforts to automate operation and maintenance functions
- Support patching and maintenance
- Supporting Application team troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Maintain status of all tasks and projects in Jira
- Provide on-call incident and change request support according to the approved process/procedures, coordinating with Enterprise Operations Center (EOC) incident management staff, application owners, and technical SMEs as necessary
- US Citizenship required to obtain a CBP clearance; Limited BI Required Prior to Start
- 3+ years of experience and a B.S. degree. Bachelor of Science (BS) can be substituted with an additional 4 years of related experience
- 1+ years' experience IBM MQ configuration and maintenance
- 1+ years' experience providing incident, problem and change management support for 24x7 infrastructure operations
- 1+ years' experience in depth experience of working in a 2nd/3rd line IT support or project delivery environment
- 1+ years' experience within Middleware, JAVA or related technology
- 1+ years' experience with Third Party Message Queuing Products (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Etc.)
- Scripting and automation (Bash Shell, Korn Shell, Windows Batch, Etc.) working knowledge
- XML Configuration and layout working knowledge
- JSON Configuration and layout working knowledge
