Summary You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Engineering Support Branch, Logistics Department, Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC), Industrial Support Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE. Responsibilities You will provide technical research assistance and direct logistic support to Waterfront Operations (WFO) maintenance planning personnel to meet mission requirements. You will review contractor requirements for technical and administrative accuracy and rejects such request when not in accordance with established procedures. You will verify that adequate funding is available and provide notification prior to procuring material to ensure budget is properly executed. You will be responsible for tracking and expediting material shipments from initial Point of Embarkation (POE) to ultimate destination. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying a technical knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) to support the maintenance, repair, and modernization of US Naval Ships or vessels. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Serving as the focal point for issues related to ILS, acquisition, material procurement, expediting, tracking, distribution and transportation; 2) Providing assistance to enhance the Ships Configuration Management and ensure overall combat readiness and sustainability; 3) Identifying, initiating and coordinating procurement orders for all planned and emergent material requirements necessary to support maintenance projects; 4) Preparing and submitting work files as needed to maintain ship's configuration..
