Serco has projects supporting US Space Command! This cleared Designer/CAD Drafter position will be supporting the buildup and modernization of facilities across Colorado Springs. Bring your expertise and grow with a company supporting our military defense and training sites.
You will be part of member team that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. The team has been recognized by the customers for their outstanding contributions to several contracts and programs .
In this role, you will:
Prepares, modifies and maintains plans, designs, drawings, and schematics for components and systems.
Performs moderately complex drafting tasks typically using computer equipment.
Works from sketches, notes, and verbal instructions.
Uses computer-aided design (CAD) systems to prepare layouts and drawings.May perform site surveys and incorporate them into CAD files.
May work with engineers in specific disciplines, which may require some knowledge of that discipline.
Performs complex tasks requiring the consideration of multiple variables to determine proper course of action.
Receives general guidance/supervision but normally works independently on mastered tasks.
Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
Produce comprehensive, quality drawings or technical documentation as required.
Demonstrate proficiency using AutoCAD to accomplish engineering tasks.
Perform individual and team Quality checks on drawings or technical documentation.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
US Citizen
Active and Current DoD Secret Clearance
An Associate's degree in drafting and 2 to 4 years of experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 4 to 8 years of experience working in an engineering discipline
Up to 10% local travel (Colorado Springs locations)
Additional desired experience and skills:
Three (3) years of drafting experience producing drawings files compatible withAutoCAD software. This shall include at least two (2) years' experience in developing, preparing, reviewing and editing drawings used to plan or document the installation of Department of Defense C4ISR systems.
Must have reliable transportation to work sites in Colorado Springs, CO
Work will be performed inside a large government facility.
Position may require night and weekend work and could include travel
Employment is contingent upon obtaining all required certifications within the time-frame specified in a waiver by the government (if applicable) and maintaining required certifications through the duration of the contract. Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
Be able to wear PPE and move around on construction site from time to time
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory.
It is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.
You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work

Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military, and contractor personnel at all levels.
Candidate must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Grooming and dress must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $52,673.33 to $87,788.89; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
