Utilities Repair EHS Wastewater Technicians needed at The Large Power Systems Division located in Lafayette, IN. In this role as a Utilities Repair Environmental Health and Safety Wastewater Technician, you will perform assignments of specific tasks focused on tracking compliance and monitoring performance. The key role of this position is to support the facility in evaluating program effectiveness and compliance. Attention to detail in this position is critical. You will collect and evaluate data daily.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Identifies Applicable EHS regulations and evaluates impact to the facility
Identifies existing and potential EHS problems
Participates in developing corrective measures
Develops procedures to assure continuing compliance with regulations and organizational standards
Develops management systems for EHS functions
Participates on teams to ensure compliance with organization and all government EHS standards as well as performing EHS audits.
Develops EHS training programs and completes reports for submission to EPA or OSHA
This role will require working toward and obtaining a Class D license
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of Environmental Health & Safety experience.
Must hold, at minimum, a Class B license and be working towards a Class D License
Applicant must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic systems
Applicant must have working knowledge of RCRA and Hazardous waste regulations
Applicant must be able to read and understand mechanical prints
Self-starter and self-motivated individual who works well individually in a team environment
Proficient in recordkeeping utilizing MS Excel
Top Candidates will also have:
Experience handling hazardous waste
DOT and RCRA Certifications
Working knowledge of SPCC and SWPPP plans and regulations
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively
Experience working in a Lab Environment
Physical Requirements:
Candidates for all positions must have the ability to work in a fast pace, medium to heavy duty assembly, technical environment.
Work may involve frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and standing on concrete for 8+ hours.
All positions also require the ability to lift 40 pounds and withstand frequent repetitive movement of hands with a variety of tooling.
Must be able to work in heights and confined spaces

Shift: 1st shift (6:30am to 2:30pm)

Compensation & Benefits Offered!
Starting hourly pay rate of $ 36.36. Higher rates offered based on experience.
