CTG is seeking to fill aMessaging and Collaboration Engineer IIopening for our client based inIrving Texas.

Location: Remote, work from home

Duration: 9 months

Description:

We are seeking a talented individual for a Messaging and Collaboration Engineer II position, with a focus on messaging and other collaboration services. The Messaging and Collaboration team is responsible for input in to technology roadmaps, product selection, engineering, technical consulting, implementation, support, and on-going capacity planning of the messaging and collaboration infrastructure. This person will be accountable for the administration and support of company collaboration services.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates and communicates with peers, customers and leaders of the health, capacity, patch level and overall status of systems.

  • Provides recommendations and input in to technical roadmaps.

  • Provides technical recommendations and solutions for how to meet business problems.

  • Applies patches and upgrades for systems; performs system checkout and verification of change.

  • Upholds technology standards and automated system processes.

  • Implements new systems and retires older equipment/services.

  • Performs capacity management and maintenance on cloud hosted solutions.

  • Develops and follows change management documentation including back out plans.

  • Documents system changes through change management, team process and procedures, configuration management databases and system diagrams.

  • Collaborates and communicates with other IT groups to stay informed of changes and developments that may impact the production, QA, and development systems.

  • Optimizes current processes and develops new processes as required.

  • Assists in establishing performance metrics and measurement and reporting of established metrics.

  • Provides level 2 or 3 support.

  • Writes technical specifications for purchase of hardware and systems software.

  • Makes recommendations for software/hardware based on research in support of procurement efforts, when appropriate.

  • Troubleshoots network, configuration, and other application elements of a collaboration system.

  • Acts as a liaison and advocates for systems and the tools, processes, and procedures necessary throughout the lifecycle of technology.

  • Administers and implements security processes and procedures.

  • Monitors the performance and availability of systems.

  • Documents and recommends policies, procedures, and systems architecture.

  • On-Call responsibilities, which includes after-hours maintenance

  • Follow through to customer resolution; maintains customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Working knowledge and conceptual understanding of the following products and technologies:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience with Office365 applications, specifically Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, including Microsoft Calling

  • Microsoft Teams device evaluation and support

  • Azure Active Directory and Active Directory experience is a plus

  • Multi-factor authentication concepts and technologies

  • Mobile device management (Intune, etc.)

Minimum Education:

  • B.S. in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Minimum Related Work Experience:

  • 3 to 5 yrs System Administration experience with collaboration tools

  • 3 yrs of enterprise IT tools and enterprise IT team experience

  • 3 yr of system documentation experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows operating system

  • Basic knowledge of networking and TCP/IP
