What We're Looking For
Come join our growing team, the time is right to join HNTB Corporation! We are currently seeking an design engineer for our Transit + Mobility practice. The Engineer III role will be responsible for a variety of civil engineering tasks including site design, roadway improvements, and bicycle and pedestrian improvements related to the profitable delivery of our transit and multi-modal projects. Duties will include production of plans, design calculations, technical reports, and specifications. This role also includes leading smaller task assignments, collaboration with team members, mentorship of junior engineers, and interaction with our clients.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Working collaboratively in a team environment to deliver client-focused engineering solutions for transit and multi-modal projects.
Coordinates preparation of design details, plans, quantities, cost estimates and specifications within assigned task areas.
Helps supervise, schedule and check work of project team members and subconsultants.
Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Engaging with internal and external professional and civic organizations to grow HNTBs brand and opportunities for civic interactions.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree in Engineering
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
Professional Engineer (PE) certification
What You'll Need
Essential Responsibilities:
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
Assist in the development of project specifications.
Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.
Performs quality control reviews of discipline - specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience
Master's degree in Engineering and 3 year of relevant experience
PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience
