What this looks like (starts after 90 days):

  • 1st shift: $25.96/hour up to $27.11/hour with attendance premium applied

On your 1st day you will receive 40 hours of Paid Time Off and will earn an additional 60 hours of Paid Time Off during your 1st year!

As a Welder 3 at Caterpillar you will:

  • Manual MIG, TIG and stick welding on steel and aluminum.

  • Uses various tools provided in the work area to perform welding duties to perform welding duties including but not limited

  • to:

  • Perform Out-of-position repair of defective welds utilizing carbon air arc process, grinders, etc.

  • Inspect own work including quality checks utilizing weld and attribute gages and other measuring tools.

  • Use of lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs.

  • Complete routine maintenance (wire change, tip/nozzle change) of all shop equipment.

  • Build structures and tooling to specification when prints/concepts are provided or design custom solutions when

  • assigned.

  • Follow and utilize CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work

  • Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of MIG welding experience

Top Candidates will also have or be able to:

  • At least one year of experience in machining processes

  • At least one year of experience in manufacturing operations

  • Some experience in design software, such as AutoCAD, and a commitment to improving those skills

  • Experience with fixture or jig making.

  • Experience taking a rough concept to a completed design and fabricating it

  • Product assembler experience

  • Some experience in design software, such as AutoCAD, and a commitment to improving those skills

  • Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in reading blueprints

  • Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in recognizing or describing the mechanical functions and specifications of products and/or parts

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.

  • Ability to perform repetitive operations.

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Schedule

  • 1st Shift Monday - Thursday 7M - 4:30 PM

  • Friday 7 AM - 11 AM
