Are you an experienced Database Engineer with an interest in building compelling user interfaces? Our team is looking for an experienced Database Engineer capable of managing and enhancing enterprise databases who can work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. In this position, you will be a member of a growing Agile team supporting the development of critical mission applications for the US Space Force as a member of Parsons' Space Operations Directorate. You will work with software engineers to deploy, create, troubleshoot, and tune databases in clustered and cloud environments. The physical location for this work will be in the Parsons office, Colorado Springs. Hybrid work is available for the position.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline with at least 10 years technical experience. Additional relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
Experience with PostgreSQL in Linux including high-availability and backup/recovery
Experience with database auditing, logging configuration, performance tuning, and STIGs
Experience with database support tools (e.g. DBeaver, SQL Developer, Liquibase)
Experience with SQL and SQL tuning
Experience with development/deployment tools (e.g., Gitlab, Maven)
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Azure Cloud services
Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python, PowerShell)
Ability to support and troubleshoot issues on common Operating Systems (e.g. Linux, Windows)
Great interpersonal and communications skills, while establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with team members
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly.
Excellent communication skills, in both spoken and written English
Must be a US Citizen due to DoD contract
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Desired Skills
Database production support experience
Experience with one or more coding languages (e.g. Java)
Experience in other databases, such as MongoDB, Oracle
Experience with application deployment in Docker containers
Experience with Kubernetes and other container orchestration tools
Experience with configuration management/deployment tools (Kubectl, Helm)
Willingness to assist teammates with development environment configuration

Salary Range:
$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
