Job Description

AECOM has a position available for a mid-career level Architect IV for either our Arlington, VA or Washington, DC locations.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Prepare designs, renderings, sketches, diagrams, schematic and working drawings to illustrate design solutions

  • Preparing specifications, reports, and related data tables

  • Develops technical solutions to a wide range of programmatic requirements

  • Develops planning and creative design concepts for projects

  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups

  • Preparing contract drawings during all design phases

  • Working closely with a Senior Architect / Project Manager, independently preparing and presenting client focused design solutions to project team members

  • Manage various trades for specific projects (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural, etc.) in-house or separate non-AECOM sub-consultants

  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

  • Responsible for providing architectural guidance, calculations, analysis, studies and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within the schedules and budget of an assigned project.

  • May manage various size groups of architects, designers and/or specialists.

  • May work on various sized projects and/or assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers with higher grades.

  • May provide mentorship to junior level Architects

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Architecture plus 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience using one or more of the following: Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign

  • Architecture license is required for this position

  • Clearance: Current or within the past 2 years holding a Secret (S) or Top Secret (TS) in good standing

  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 years of professional experience in the Architectural field

  • Experience working on all phases of Architectural projects

  • Previous Project production experience, including standards and regulations

  • LEED Accreditation is a plus

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $92,869.00 - $132,000.00.
