This position requires at least a DoD Top Secret (SCI eligible)and is in Colorado Springs, CO.ResponsibilitiesThe Network/Systems Engineer will work on the Enterprise Ground Services(EGS) program providing expertise and support in network engineering. Thisis a fast-paced and highly challenging position where you will be a member ofa team. The Engineer is responsible for ensuring the appropriate operationalnetwork posture is maintained at local space force bases. This includes thefollowing activities related to maintaining situational awareness andinitiating actions to improve or restore network cybersecurity posture. LocalTravel 25% between Colorado Springs and Denver. The Network/SystemsEngineer wKnowledge of VMware, Palo Alto, Cisco and Juniper, Virtual Routing andForwarding/VRF, 8570 DOD CertAssist and advise on the engineering, design, integration and delivery ofgovernment and/or commercially provided communications services in supportof program data requirementsDevelop program strategies and plans for communications and network technologymaturation through phased deliveries. Analyze current comms systemcapabilities, emerging mission requirements, industry roadmaps,cyber-security initiatives, and future program plans to establish anarchitecture strategic plan and provide recommendations for the developmentand deployment of specific solutions from a technical, cost and schedulestandpWork with government communications service providers (DISA, IC, AFSPCNetworks) and commercial service providers (CenturyLink, AT&T,Verizon) for ordering and delivery of services, understanding of theirtechnology roadmaps, and management of program Service Level AgreementsSupport updates and upgrades to program networks to address obsolescence,vulnerabilities, technology insertion/demonstration, expansion, orsystem resiliencyAssess communications systems and the relationship with InformationAssurance, Cryptographic Systems, Data Processing, Storage Systems,Voice and Video systems, and emerging Cloud ServicesCritical skills include architecture/requirements definition/analysis,engineering/design, fielding/integration, and test/turnoverExcellent interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communicationskills are mandatoryBe forward looking, mission/customer focused and have a bias for actionWork proactively, independently as a member of a highly effective technicalteam while developing approaches to solutions.Travel 25%Education/QualificationsBachelor of Science with strong technical background.
