Application Analyst
JOB SUMMARY :
This position will be responsible for developing and supporting applications for the Transmission Planning (TP) department of the Power Delivery organization. As a key part of the team, the successful candidate will help innovate and develop the next generation of applications as Transmission Planning works to integrate renewable resources (such as solar and battery energy storage), explore new technologies, and plan the grid to meet the needs of our wholesale and retail customers. The application areas involved include data management, power-flow modeling, engineering analysis, data visualization and reporting. The user base for these applications includes both internal employees and customers external to the company.
To excel in this position, the candidate requires a solid understanding of Visual Studio C#, ASP.NET MVC, the .Net framework, .Net Core, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, application design patterns and architectures, the object-oriented thought process, and advanced software troubleshooting. Knowledge of Python and the use of visualization tools such as PowerBI is a plus. Experience with ArcGIS or AutoCAD would also be beneficial.
Educational Requirements:
. Four-year degree strongly preferred. Major in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical field preferred.
Experience Requirements:
. At least 2 years of full-stack development experience in C# with Visual Studio
. Strong to expert level of ASP.NET MVC knowledge with at least 2 years of development experience
. Extensive experience with development technologies, methodologies, and associated tools
. Extensive experience with application architecture
. Experience utilizing Angular, Bootstrap, jQuery or other client-side frameworks as part of development efforts, as well as industry leading third party UI controls (e.g., Telerik, Infragistics)
. Experience with Git and Azure CI/CD pipeline
Job Requirements:
. Knowledge and understanding of software development technologies, methodology and associated tools
. Knowledge of C# and the .NET framework
. Understanding of service-oriented architectures
. Knowledge of cloud environments, particularly Azure
. N-tier application architecture experience using the .NET platform
. Working knowledge of application architectures (Web, Client Server, Cloud, Integration, Databases, etc.)
. Candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
. Must be a self-starter and work well in a team environment
. Ability to demonstrate application design principles

. Provide root cause analysis, efficient production support and maintenance/enhancements for existing applications
