THE ROLE : The Sr. Manager, Inventory Optimization will be responsible for engineering and implementing best in class Supply Chain solutions across Xylem to drive improvement of inventory and planning metrics. This leader will partner with regional SC leaders on a data-driven approach to identify process and technology inefficiencies and opportunities, to implement inventory optimization solutions, and to achieve Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) standardization.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Improve performance on Day Inventory On Hand (DIO) while maintaining customer On Time Delivery

  • Drive organizational and process rigor around SIOP and inventory optimization

  • Develop inventory optimization strategy, including inventory segmentation and intelligent lifecycle data analytics and execution

  • Lead and/or sponsor ad hoc projects that are analyzing and developing insights and recommendations that will drive inventory optimization across the end-to-end supply chain

  • Continuously improve and standardize SIOP and inventory optimization policies, processes, and tools, including automated and integrated solutions specifically tailored to Xylem's product mix

  • Monitor and analyze delivery reliability and forecast accuracy and recommend corrective actions when required

  • Generate business insights and data visualizations to quantify optimization opportunities and to measure effectivity of improvement implementations

  • Intermediary between IT and Operations to solve Operational issues, leveraging existing tools within Xylem and/or weighing the cost and benefits of new tools

  • Partner with plant leadership to coach, train and help implement tools, corrective actions, and/or process changes

  • Evangelize and be the SME for latest tools and technology that can be implemented to achieve supply chain optimization goals

  • Provide support and knowledge for supply chain staff development through education, training, coaching and mentoring

  • Work effectively across plants and functions to deliver SIOP objectives

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 5+ years' experience in material control systems and processes

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (preferably Business, Supply Chain or Engineering)

  • Demonstrated experience in planning as well as executing successful supply chain transformation.

  • Strong background in Supply Chain management best practices, including material planning, production control, logistics, and inventory management

  • Strong influence and change management skills, especially in a matrix environment with cross-functional stakeholders (see key relationships)

  • Ability to present information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences

  • Ability to influence senior management, teams and individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines and geographies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, with excellent Excel skills

  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams with proven abilities to influence others

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years Lean Material and Information Flow experience in a discrete manufacturing environment that follows lean manufacturing principles and methods (e.g., Toyota Production System, Danaher Business System, Lean Enterprise Institute /Harris Lean Systems Making Material Flow)

  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience (preferably Business, Supply Chain or Engineering)

  • Experience at a high performing lean material flow company

  • A solid track record for performance and progression within operations, business and supply chain;

  • Demonstrated relentless drive and determination to achieve success

  • Knowledge of SAP, WMS systems are preferred

DAY IN THE LIFE :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. 25-50% travel (Americas, Europe, APAC, Emerging Markets).

SALARY :

The estimated salary range for this position is $88,500.00 to $183,500.00 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
