We are One Engineering System (1ES)--part of Developer Division in Microsoft's Cloud and Application Infrastucture (C+AI) division. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team.
Software engineering practices and tools are always vulnerable to security and legal risks. In this position, you would help us enable engineers to develop more secure and compliant products without slowing down. Responsibilities
You will have an opportunity to set the architectural direction, reason for priorities and create collaborative agreements about the ordering of work while maintaining good relationships with partner teams. There is a lot of cross-group work, so you'll need to be proficient at building and maintaining warm and productive working relationships with other teams. There is a massive stream of telemetry and regular investigations of bugs, so familiarity with debugging and telemetry analysis will be helpful.
There are deep technical challenges running systems at our scale, so a background in distributed systems and large-scale services would help you get productive fast. Above all, it is important that you show empathy for customers, be sensitive to their needs, have good instincts for crafting a scalable and reliable tools and services and proficient at guiding teams to deliver a phenomenal user experience.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing distributed cloud architectures and infrastructure.
Experience with sustainable software development, improving patterns and practices.
Working with distributed teams.
Designing highly available and reliable systems.
Live site support for large scale services.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
