The Global Trade Organization, within the Anti-Corruption, Trade, and Risk Management (ATRM) group of MBO is responsible for global export compliance for Microsoft's products, services, and technology.
The Global Trade Organization team owns and manages export control processes, ensuring compliance with all applications laws and regulations and provides export subject matter expertise internally and externally.
This role will proactively address immediate Trade-related compliance needs for the Nuance Communications acquisition, and build longer term plans to address emerging regulatory changes. You will take a strategic view in driving beyond the day-to-day and help to build a robust plan for today, and for tomorrow while implementing and driving for continuous improvements in processes and structure to pave the way for innovation and growth by setting standards and priorities, identifying and solving for potential process gaps.
Responsibilities
The position will act as a Trade Manager, supporting the recent Nuance business acquisition, as a member of the Export Controls Center of Excellence (COE), which sits in the wider Global Trade Organization. As the Global Trade Organization team continues to expand and grow to meet external statutory trends and internal business needs, the Trade Manager will be primarily responsible be responsible for supporting the export compliance needs of the Nuance Communications business.
Trade is seeking an experienced professional, with industry experience in healthcare, retail, financial services, telecommunications and others, in implementing a robust export compliance program, which includes areas of export classification, export licensing, deemed exports, and technology transfers. This position will also act as a process/technology advocate for Nuance, and support the integration and implementation of suitable Microsoft technology, systems, and processes to address key business compliance processes, that will promote a seamless business transition, improve productivity and increase trade compliance by building effective user focused tools, automating processes and visualizing data for internal and stakeholder use.

2-3 years' experience in classifying information security / technology products (CCL Cat 3/4/5) preferred.
Strong project management and organizational skills
Experience in, and knowledge of, Cloud export controls, ITAR, EAR and non-U.S. export (e.g. UN, EU, UK, etc.) regulations.
Export compliance experience in acquisitions, ventures, and divestitures.
Experience creating and delivering training modules to cross-functional teams and key stakeholders
Experience with assessing compliance risks in the business and developing proactive strategies to mitigate risks.
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees (from Managed Services to Senior Leadership).
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to interact and team with company personnel and external advisors.
