Overview

The Automation Center of Excellence (ACE) in NFCU's Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO) empowers individuals throughout the enterprise to assess, plan, design and deliver automated solutions with Agile methodology on their own; providing toolsets, training, and guardrails so that their designs will be reliable and scalable while limiting risks to the enterprise. The objective is to accelerate availability of automations needed by NFCU departments while standardizing the approach so that SMEs across the enterprise can mutually help each other with solutions.

This role will be a member of the Enterprise Projects and Process Management (EP&PM) group within ACE - a diverse group of Process Improvement Analysts and Project Managers looking to enable and support business units in execution of Process Improvement and Automation Delivery efforts.

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2024 and ending in August 2024. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2024 or later.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand the Automation Lifecyle framework and Process Improvement framework

  • Define problem statement(s), analyze current state, and define current state process maps based on video recording, procedures, or other information documents

  • Work with Senior Analysts on Future State recommendations and creation of future state process maps

  • Work with Senior Analysts on the translation of future state process maps to epics, features and user stories

  • Work with project team to create components of presentations and reports that support completed analysis

  • Collect data and metrics to identify and make recommendations for process improvement efforts as assigned

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or other related field

  • Experience with research, process, and data analysis

  • Strong strategic, logical, and analytical thinking skills

  • Comfort analyzing small to medium use cases and summarizing the findings

  • Ability to work independently, think outside of the box, try new things, and fail fast

  • Good communication and presentation skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint; and any analytical tools

  • Team player - willing to go above and beyond to deliver tasks and efforts

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report onsite 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting onsite will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and onboarding process.
