_SUMMARY:_ The AM Director of Manufacturing Engineering leads a team of Engineers and Technicians implementing improved manufacturing process methods, eliminating waste, and improving the quality of delivered products. In this role you will have the responsibility to lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. Ensure the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively. Responsible for the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process _OBJECTIVES:_ * Manages to spend forecast with Finance. Collaborates across functions to ensure alignment on the execution of project schedule. * Ensures machine performance data is available for manufacturing and technical support functions as a tool to maximize output and productivity. * Collaborates with Product Engineering on new products to ensure manufacturing processes can support new products. Identifies investments required to support new products. * Coach and mentor team members to support the development of the organization's talent and succession. * Drives a department-wide project management program to ensure consistent and effective project outcomes. * Effectively align the interests of multiple, diverse stakeholders. You see the big picture, constantly are imagining future scenarios, and create strategies to sustain competitive advantage. * Write machine specifications for the procurement of production machinery and test equipment * Install, document, and refine production systems to meet safety, quality, cost, and throughput requirements * Provides engineering, technical and leadership direction to assigned resources and cross-functional efforts and projects. * Directs the development of personnel and process improvements and recommends equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposal for integrating machinery, equipment, and tooling into the manufacturing process. * Establishes and implements safety procedures, identifies and reviews safety issues, and reviews safety and accident reports assisting in corrective actions. * Oversees installation to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications; tests ability of machines to perform tasks. * Manages equipment improvements and upgrades. * Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. KEY RELATIONSHIPS: * Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians * Plant and Manufacturing Management Leadership * Design, Product Engineering & Development, Quality Engineering & Management EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree from four-year college or university. * 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment including 2-3 years leading teams * Ideal candidates will have a track record of operational improvement through manufacturing methods * Will be a self-starter capable of making good decisions with a track record of successfully managing people and processes along with writing procedures. * Commanding knowledge of manufacturing processes, and associated business processes to enable a successful manufacturing operation (capital planning, new product introduction, design for manufacturing, supplier engagement, operational metrics) * Vision: ability to assess organizational capability; strategic with the ability to articulate both short and long-term (three-year) plans. * Metric-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to comprehend broad sets of data (especially lean, operational excellence, continuous improvement). * Manufacturing Systems Technology: Knowledge and application of lean manufacturing principles and product/process variation reduction through DMAIC methodology. * Control technology, including simplistic pneumatic and hydraulic control systems * Project planning, capital expenditure proposals, standard operating procedures * MS Office Programs, Mini-tab, AutoCAD, All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
