Division Description:

ITW Shakeproof Industrial Products (SIP) serves major OEMs and their tier suppliers direct and through distribution channels in the industrial market. SIP supplies metal stamped & cold headed fasteners totaling approximately $67M in revenue annually. Manufacturing / Warehouse locations include Milwaukee, WI; Broadview, IL; Watertown, WI; and Iron Ridge, WI.

The Manufacturing Engineer reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drives process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training.

  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.

  • Prepares and presents plans for the above and coordinate deployment including training of team members.

  • Assists in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training.

  • Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.

  • Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.

  • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products and equipment including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.

  • Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.

  • Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams regarding product design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.

  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a commensurate level of experience with related products, preferred.

  • Experience and/or training in safe work environments, capital improvement, and machining or cold metal working, preferred.

  • Computer assisted design (CAD) proficiency in AutoCAD, or SolidWorks preferred.
