  • Conduct verification and validation reviews, and analysis and assessments of laser system capabilities for deconfliction and satellite safety. Includes on-site visits and documenting results in reports.

  • Provide comprehensive reviews and assessments of laser capabilities for satellite safety and documenting results in reports or presentations to the customer.

  • Operate the laser registration process by tracking status of laser registrations, screening laser technical parameters, coordinating hazard analyses, and preparing hazard category assignment.

  • Perform probabilistic risk analyses of laser hazards to satellites. Requires use of complex, engineering-level tools.

  • Develop competence in the customer's Space Deconfliction System (DECON) as well as sophisticated software tools used for laser/satellite deconfliction analysis, satellite susceptibility analysis, and probabilistic risk analysis.

  • Collaborate extensively with the LCH, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren Division, laser system developers, weapon operators, and other stakeholders.
