What We're Looking For
The time is right to join HNTB Corporation! HNTB is currently seeking a Project Engineer for our Transit + Mobility practice. The Project Engineer will be responsible for a variety of civil engineering tasks including site design, roadway improvements, and bicycle and pedestrian improvements related to the profitable delivery of our transit and multi-modal projects. Duties will include production of plans, design calculations, technical reports, and specifications. This role also includes leading task assignments, collaboration with team members, mentorship of young engineers, and interaction with our clients.
Primary Transit Focus Will Include:
Working collaboratively in a team environment to deliver client-focused engineering solutions for transit and multi-modal projects.
Coordinates preparation of design details, plans, quantities, cost estimates and specifications within assigned task areas.
Helps supervise, schedule and check work of project team members and subconsultants.
Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Engaging with internal and external professional and civic organizations to grow HNTB's brand and opportunities for civic interactions.
Essential Skills:
Strong engineering skills and attention to detail with a high level of construction/technical competency.
Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with clients and consultants.
Comfortable presenting projects to clients and in public settings.
Ability to adjust to dynamic project priorities.
Prepares scopes of work, fee proposals and responses to RFP's for a variety of project scales.
Desire to grow personally and professionally.
Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments.
Oversight of the work of less experienced staff.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree in Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) certification
Bentley InRoads and/or OpenRoads experience
Autocad experience a plus but not required

What You'll Need
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence the to the schedule and budget on projects.
Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
Assists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.
Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team's work within the technical discipline. Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives.
Coordinates technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.
Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience
Master's degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience
PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience
