We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Value Stream Manager supporting our Wear Components Business.
The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

The Supply Chain Planning Engineer 4 is apart of the Global Undercarriage Supply Chain team. You will be responsible for managing the global supply chain for the Undercarriage set of components. Working to both define and improve our supply network to better support our customers. This includes defining sourcing strategies for Prime Products and Aftermarkets for current products and NPI (New Product Introduction), as well as setting up a sustainable and agile supply network that delivers the lowest landed cost at the expected availability to support Caterpillar's growth targets. This role is a key supply chain position and may participate in facility or business division strategy development and target setting.
Responsibilities:
Leads efforts which require the ability to build multi-functional networks to drive activities across multiple supply chain functions and non-supply chain divisions, such as site Purchasing and Operations
Work with multiple Caterpillar facilities, Product Group's, Engineering, Machine Business Division and Aftermarket Division to determine sourcing strategy for components in scope to provide the best value to the Enterprise considering cost, availability, and assurance of supply to support Caterpillar's growth targets
Lead project teams comprised of multi-functional resources, including business division, supply chain planning, global purchasing, operations, Global Transportation, Demand and Orders, Material Requirements Planning and Logistics to support NPI and sourcing projects to recommend optimal regional as well as global sourcing
Potential to include large projects to strengthen the Caterpillar supply chain and ensure a reliable and sustainable supply to our customer while optimizing OPACC (Operating Profit after Capital Charge)
Coordinates the long-term capacity planning with facilities to align demand forecast with global capacity
Works collaboratively with facilities and multiple business division functions to address and resolve supply issues using root cause and corrective action (RCCA) and recovery planning by providing global approach leveraging alternative sources of supply to mitigate supply disruption risks as necessary
Build and maintain strong credibility by building and maintaining positive relationships
Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time
Basic Requirements:
5-10 years of progressively increasing responsibilities in Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering or alternative background aligned with the job description
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, or Operations Management
Prior experience and knowledge of lean concepts and tools
Knowledge or and/or experience deploying and using 6Sigma Project Management principles
Strong Business Acumen and Strategic Attributes; including strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to creatively solve very complex problems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience working with and within a global team
Strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills in order to drive common processes across multiple departments within a business division
Experience in operations and/or supporting an operations environment
Solid project management skills
Top candidates will also have :
Master's Degree or higher in Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, or Operations Management
APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification
Excellent leadership skills to effectively lead improvements making the best use of available resources, while maintaining a strong people focus and fulfilling the responsibilities for leading people
Ability to understand Caterpillar policies and procedures and solid product/manufacturing process knowledge
Previous end-to-end supply Value Stream understanding, including customers and dealers
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
