Overview
This role will function as the director of Cloud IaC & Automation for all managed VPC (virtual private cloud) workloads under the Cloud Engineering organization.
To manage, lead, and coach a team of highly skilled professionals responsible for cloud-native product engineering focused on Infrastructure as Code and Data automation and product delivery. To partner with product owners and other Cloud engineering teams to deliver secure, high performing, highly available products leveraging Infrastructure as Code technologies. The team will research, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain system and product solutions.
The role requires broad engineering experience with Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud technologies; specifically, deep technical expertise in Azure Infrastructure as Code modules; Azure Data services, Azure DevOps Repos and Pipelines; Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS); Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and supporting technologies. Candidates filling the role will be responsible for the team's design, development, and support of Infrastructure as Code deployments of Azure resources via Azure DevOps. The candidate should have a history of having led successful product engineering deliveries in the relevant products and support of such in technically complex environments.

Responsibilities
Lead, guide and mentor staff

Apply engineering principles to the design and enhancement of systems
Ensure documentation of new system components, or modifications to existing components
Ensure the security and integrity of system and product solutions
Full life-cycle product management
Provide input and make budgetary recommendations regarding staffing and equipment
Provide technical leadership in architecture discipline & development of IT solutions

Specific Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Strong leadership skills with successful track record of cloud delivery; partnership with, and influence of executive leadership
Advanced expertise in Infrastructure as Code principles (IaC), and engineering IaC deployments via Azure DevOps including modules, Pipelines, and Repos
Advanced experience in scripting with Windows PowerShell
Advanced expertise in engineering Azure security platforms including Azure Policy, Azure Security Center, and optionally Sentinel and M365 Defender
Advanced expertise in engineering Azure Platform as a Service (Azure PaaS) including but not limited to:
Storage Accounts, Azure Recovery Services Vaults, Functions, Logic Apps, Web Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Active Directory, Application Insights, Virtual Networks, Application Gateway, Load Balancers
Advanced expertise in engineering Azure Infrastructure as a Service (Azure IaaS) including but not limited to:
Subscriptions, Resource Groups, Virtual Machines, Disks, Managed Disks, Availability Zones, Availability Sets, Azure Monitor, etc.
Intermediate Expertise in engineering Azure Automation
OMS, State Configuration (Azure DSC), Update Management, Runbooks, Inventory Management, Change Tracking
Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, LDAP, Kerberos, DNS, TCP/IP, WMI, SNMP
Working knowledge of MS SQL Server usage and administration
Minimum of 15-20 year experience in IT with an emphasis on Cloud infrastructure and data technologies
Minimum of 2-5 years leading teams responsible for one or more of the following or comparable technologies:
Azure SQL Database
Azure Key Vault
Power BI
Azure Analysis Service
Azure Blob Storage
Azure Data Bricks
Azure Data Factory
Azure Data Lake Storage
Cassandra Database
Azure Data Lake Analytics
Azure Synapse

Working knowledge of ServiceNow
