The Production Manager is responsible for managing daily manufacturing operations in assigned production area. The Production Manager oversees all areas of floor operations, production workforce, material handling, customer returns, and shipping/receiving.

  • Manage a team of production employees by coaching, guiding, conducting reviews, managing time, enforcing policies/procedures, and counseling when necessary; participate in recruiting process and train and onboard new employees as needed.

  • Oversee the workflow in all assigned manufacturing work areas

  • Manage production resources, workflow and scheduling to assure customer requirements or stated lead-times or met.

  • Plan and schedule all work based on business needs.

  • Conduct quality audits and provide feedback when procedures are not correct; evaluate and recommend suggestions following audit for continuous improvement.

  • Maintain method sheet accuracy by performing regular audits, ensuring methods are up-to-date, support production for interpretation of methods to follow set standards and retrain employees when necessary.

  • Interpret and support quality policies and implement guidelines to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Recommend and drive improvements that help reduce waste and costs and improve yields and efficiencies.

  • Manage process changes and ensure they are properly implemented.

  • Work closely with the Environmental and Safety Manager to ensure all members of the operations team are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace for our employees.

  • Maintain compliance with safety and environmental procedures by performing and documenting regular audits and following up on the findings. Provide feedback when procedures are not correct.

  • Train employees on processes, safety, quality, and Kan Ban process.

  • Review inventory grading reports for accuracy and recommend corrections.

  • Manage cycle count system, create records, and provide training to employees on their role in monthly/quarterly cycle counts.

  • Maintain production metrics and data such as lead times, cost savings tracking and scrap; make recommendations for improvements.

  • Hold regular scrap review meetings, document minutes and follow up on action items to address scrap issues.

  • Notify sales and/or customer service concerning delays and shortages with products.

  • Maintain focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, and USa principles/techniques, developing employees to understand and use the tools, and making process improvement recommendations to management.

*Education: * Associate degree in Engineering, Industrial Management or Technical field required; Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in a management position preferably in an operations/manufacturing environment that utilizes best practices such as 5S, Kanban, JIT, or pull inventory systems, Value Stream Mapping, and a formal quality management system such as ISO 9001.

  • Highly motivated and results oriented.

  • Highly knowledgeable of manufacturing processes and stays current in assembly/manufacturing technology and trends

  • Strong working knowledge of business financials and accounting practices

  • Strong knowledge of, and experience with, managing business unit budgets.

  • Strong knowledge of EHS requirements - drives ongoing improvements in local safety standards/performance

  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated presentation skills

  • Strong project management skills and possesses the ability to multi-task

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to motivate people, asses and develop employee skills.
