As a Tanzu Value Advisor (TVA) , you will be part of VMware's exciting Modern Applications and Management Business Unit (MAMBU) with a focus on products and services under the VMware Tanzu portfolio (https://tanzu.vmware.com/) which help customers build, run, and manage their most important applications. As an Executive (TVA) Advisor you will specialize in a domain area such as application architecture, application development, digital strategy, or transformation as well as have sufficient breadth in a specific industry vertical in order to effectively apply your domain expertise within that vertical. This will enable you to work on our top 50 strategic accounts at the executive level. You will be able to leverage your experience and skills in finance, transformation and in order to operate at the most senior levels at our customers.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
You will work closely with Sales Leadership and Sales Engineering leadership to determine the most strategic accounts where you will be responsible for the following.
The Tanzu Value Advisor is expected to spend 50% of their time working or influencing leaders and executives at strategic clients with them or their teams.
In order to influence our customers you will need to build long term exec level relationships, discover needs of our most valued customers, build a plan together with the clients and help them deliver to their transformation strategies.
Create strategic thought leadership and POVs (Point of Views) in order to become a trusted advisor to leadership in the named accounts
The Tanzu Value Advisor is expected to spend up to 25% of their time on market-focused activities.
Lead discussions and talks in development org transformations and new ways of working in a cloud native way.
The goal is to take 2 months of self-guided learning and condense presentations to 1- 2 hours of compelling storytelling to engage current and future clients.
Less of a focus on pushing products. Instead, build trust by showing a better understanding of potential product market fit (and building a solid business case for sales reps to target products and solution through a trusted customer partnership)
The Tanzu Value Advisor is expected to spend 25% on Personal Development Activities including
Continue personal brand activities such as book contributions, public speaking, and attendance at conferences.
Understand our technical portfolio of products and how they are used to enable the best practices in development.
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
You will be Assigned to 2-4 strategic accounts with a need for advisory services in the advisor's domain expertise ie Financial Services Sector Digital Transformation.
You will develop strategic thought leadership and deliver it in to the accounts through POVs (Point of Views) and become a trusted advisor to leadership in the named accounts
You will participates in the Strategic Pursuit Program, helping deliver the VMware Tanzu related elements of the transformation proposal for Strategic Accounts designated for VMWare.
You will be assigned to new opportunities focused primarily in AMER that pertain to the domain expertise of the candidate as capacity is available.

The role will be reporting to the Head of the Tanzu Value Advisory team in Tanzu. He has extensive experience in the application and modern platforms space and is leading the team of high level execs who have taken on an advisory role for Tanzu across the globe.

Where is this role located?
Remote: This role is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable, or the location agreed upon with your hiring manager. You will be expected to live within a number of time zones from your team as defined by your business.
