Supervisor, Procurement - REMOTE
Job Summary:
The Procurement Supervisor performs a full range of procurement and administration activities associated with purchasing work. Qualifies suppliers, issues requests for proposals, evaluates proposals, maintains procurement files in accordance with established procedures. Oversees and performs the full range of procurement and administration activities associated with purchasing work on a project. Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices. Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes. This is a remote position.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services and supplies
Takes responsibility for purchases in support of customer-related business processes or for internal use
Discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers, and is responsible for negotiating refunds
Coordinates with operations, maintenance, warehouse and engineering to ensure proper scheduling and movement of goods and supplies.
Under general direction, direct the daily activities of a business, technical support, or functional support team
Establishes priorities for the completion of assigned tasks
May direct resources, prioritize tasks and provide guidance to less experienced team members
Relies upon experience, interpersonal skills, and broad knowledge of field to ensure task completion in compliance with policies, procedures, and business strategy
Under general direction, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices
Uses experience and problem solving skills to develop and improve processes
Provide input to Supplier Performance Evaluations.
Basic Qualifications:
7 + years of relevant experience in purchasing
B.S. / B.A. Majors: Business Administration, Business Management, Contract Administration, Supply Chain Management Business Law or in lieu of degree, 12+ years of relevant experience
Should possess sound reasoning skills and the ability to interpret policies and government regulations in day-to-day activities
Effective communication and coordination with internal stakeholders as well as Suppliers
Experience working with FAR, DFARS, Agency regulations, ITAR, etc.
Effective Negotiator
Team Player with excellent interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or Project)
Knowledge of Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
Organized and systematic approach to task management that enables timely closure of actions
Ability to work independently with limited guidance
Experience with Deltek Costpoint
Experience with Deltek Timekeeping
Moderate to expert excel skills
