Job Summary:
The Product Engineering team within Caterpillar's Large Power Systems Division in Pontiac is responsible for developing fuel injectors and other components used in Caterpillar diesel engines. Computer-aided design (CAD), structural and hydraulic analysis, rigorous product testing, among many other tools and techniques are used to develop robust, world-class Fuel Systems products. During your time here, you will gain exposure to many of the engineering tools and methods used to develop Fuel Systems products, and you will come away from your experience with a good understanding of the impact and influence that engineers have on Caterpillar products.
You will be working in a dynamic, hands-on environment and will assist product development engineers with a wide variety of activities, including component measurement and inspection, assembly and test, evaluation of components after test, and thorough documentation of test results. There will also be opportunities to interact with Caterpillar manufacturing engineers, external suppliers, and assembly & test operators to deepen your knowledge of how Fuel Systems products are manufactured.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must currently be enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college program
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Good communication skills and strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Additional Information:
Prefer a candidate interested in pursuing a career in the STEM fields.
Hybrid role for the 2022-2023 school year
Position is located on site in Pontiac, IL.
No relocation package is available.
