Position Summary:
Is Bonaventure looking for you? You are a results-oriented Construction Project Engineer assisting the Project Manager and Construction Superintendent throughout the entire lifecycle of the project(s) from pre-construction through closeout. You are driven to success, analyzing project's critical activities and milestone dates, anticipating problems/issues that may arise and suggesting course correcting activities.!
The Project Engineer performs administrative and office engineering functions for one or more assigned projects.
Accountabilities
Support the business unit safety program.
Assist with the preparation of the project safety plan.
Participate in cost reporting and updating.
Obtain contract drawings, specifications, and other pertinent information necessary for the completion of the project and distribute copies to the project manager, superintendent, material suppliers, and subcontractors as needed.
Prepare overall project schedule with input from the project superintendent and the project manager and update the schedule monthly.
Request, receive, and tabulate bids as directed.
Negotiate assigned subcontracts, purchase orders, and draft agreements.
Obtain, review, approve, and process in a timely manner, all shop drawings and product submittals. Stay abreast of delivery dates and keep the project manager and superintendent informed of changes that affect the project schedule.
Review project documents for any changes that save money or improve the overall quality of the project.
Assist with preparation of periodic owner status reports as may be required for the project.
Who You Are:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
2-5 years of construction experience in construction management, environmental engineering, architecture, or the equivalent combination of education experience to meet the job requirements.
Working knowledge of construction methods, techniques, specifications, codes, regulations and laws.
Proficiencies in Procore, MS Office and MS Project preferred.
Good oral and written communication skills with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Solution Oriented with excellent problem solving and negotiation skills.
CPR, OSHA 300, & RLD Certifications preferred.
