Distributed Event Lead (Systems Engineer)
We are in search of an intelligent and inquisitive systems level engineer with preferred experience across a range of activities; including Distributed Test and Training, Networks, Computer systems, Weapons systems, Weapons Simulations, Test and Training Range instrumentation, Software Applications, Mission Support, Data Collection and Analysis Tools. The selected individual will be trained to be one or our primary technical points of contact for TENA/JMETC-supported distributed events and corresponding customers. TENA enabled tools and the JMETC Network are an essential RDT&E capability to provide DoD weapons System of System Testing and Training. This Individual will support the event customer and work with the TRMC Support Team to ensure the objectives of the event are met and to demonstrate event success at the highest levels. The Event Lead will work with the customer to follow a sound System Engineering approach and to ensure that the TENA/JMETC product line and services are well understood and applied. This individual is responsible for planning and coordinating technical support with the Service's military, civil service and support contractor personnel. To ensure event success, the Event Team Lead coordinates TRMC Support Team activities, represents the TENA/JMETC Event Team at the necessary event support meetings, coordinates internal TRMC Support Team activities, and coordinates necessary documentation to meet customer and TRMC requirements. The individual will travel frequently to military facilities in support of mission activity, will be subject to a Government security investigation, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Day to Day responsibilities include -
Coordinate Support team activities with event customer
Represent TRMC in event meetings
Develop and coordinate plans/activities/status of TRMC Support Team activities
Support development of JMETC Project Support Plan (PSP)
Capture network requirements and coordinate with event customer and participants
Travel and oversee event tools and configuration
Present collected TRMC Support Team activities and status
Present potential issues, potential impact to event and possible alternative solutions
Produce and distribute a daily SITREP during events and Lessons learned documentation at the event end
Coordinate internal User Support Team activities
Troubleshoot network and application issues
Coordinate with TRMC organizations (TENA, JMETC, CTEIP, etc.) to ensure that consistent and quality products are provided to the event customer
Organize and lead internal meetings to determine status of Support Team activities
Align Support Team activities with event schedule
Coordinate interoperability needs with TENA User Support Team
Coordinate network infrastructure needs with JMETC SYSCON
Coordinate Ports and Protocols list with JMETC SYSCON
Coordinate TRMC Support Team documentation
Status reports, final reports, lessons learned, fact sheets, briefings, etc.
Document potential issues and potential impact to event
Test new software tools and applications
Must have the following:
United States Citizenship
Education: Bachelor's degree in an applicable field
Minimum of 15 years experience to include the following: a. Experience with Test/Training Ranges, b. Knowledge of Range Instrumentation Systems, c. Knowledge of Data Analysis Tools
Coordination, Communication and Presentation skills
Secret Clearance
Prefer any or all of the following:
Knowledge of (TENA) Test and Training enabling architectures
Knowledge of DIS and HLA Architectures
Knowledge of Middleware protocols
Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design/UML/HTML/XML/XMI/C++/MS Office/CORBA
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating environments.
Knowledge of computer languages C++ and Java
Knowledge of Networks and Network Protocols
Knowledge of CTEIP Programs
Knowledge of S&T Programs
Knowledge of DoD Programs and Acquisition process
Understanding of Distributed Tests and Exercises
Education: Technical MS/PHD
