Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Energy Project Manager to join our growing Energy Team.

This position will perform project management and support technical tasks on a variety of projects including renewable generation, energy storage, building electrification & associated electrical upgrades, and may involve transmission and distribution (T&D) components. The successful candidate should be a dynamic, self-directed individual and be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of managing and executing energy projects through due diligence, design, construction, and testing/commissioning phases.

The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Interface regularly with the clients to identify project needs, communicate engineering solutions, and strengthen client relationships.

  • Working with interdisciplinary technical leads in the coordinated successful execution of projects

  • Coordinating internal resources and third parties/subcontractors for the execution of projects

  • Identifying and supporting the development and communication of changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs to minimize risk

  • Reporting and escalating project issues to management as needed

  • Maintaining project documentation control

  • Develop cost estimates to determine ROM on a variety of project types (e.g., renewable generation assets, energy storage, T&D upgrades, building upgrades)

  • Write technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to clients and stakeholders

  • Review or originate energy production modeling

  • Developing and maintaining good client relationships across the portfolio

  • Lead and support the development of technical proposals.

  • Training others to learn project management skills

  • Help recruit and build a team of professionals to support the growth strategy

  • High proficiency within Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Excel

  • Occasional travel within the United States may be required

  • Work in a team environment (virtual and periodically in office)

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering or related field + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Valid US Driver's License and as a condition of employment, pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering or related field

  • 3+ years experience in implementing or managing planning, design, and/or construction projects for energy/sustainability projects with utilities and/or complex buildings or campuses

  • Familiarity or experience in developing or working within Project Management Offices (PMO) to deliver complex projects

  • Advanced degree in a technical, sustainability, or business field

  • Ability to generate or review engineering design packages for renewable or HVAC designs

  • Experience developing solutions or working with a variety of industry software packages (e.g., power system modeling software, building automation analytics platforms)

  • EIT or PE license

  • PMP or CAPM certification

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

  • Relocation is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $85,000.00 - $125,000.00.
