ITW Residential & Renovation offers a broad range of professional grade anchoring tools and fasteners for numerous construction applications. Our products include wood to wood fastening systems (Paslode), structural wood fasteners (GRK FastenersTM), concrete anchoring systems (TapconR, Red HeadR, RamsetR), underlayment screws (Rock-OnR, Backer-OnR), self-drilling screws (TeksR) and drywall anchoring systems (E-Z AncorR). ITW Residential & Renovation excels in meeting the growing demands from Pro end-users for high-quality home improvement and construction fastening products. It has locations in Illinois, Texas, Arkansas and Shanghai, China. This position is located out of the Glenview, Illinois office.

The HR Director partners actively with business leadership in strategy development and operational planning for the division, and is responsible to develop actionable HR strategies action plans that support and enables the growth objectives of the Division

  • Advises business leadership on organizational design that will enable the business to grow and operate effectively. This includes evaluating work structure, job design and strategic workforce planning.

  • Proactively identifies organizational needs (talent assessment, team effectiveness, staffing, etc.) and develops strategies for resolving and addressing needs.

  • Drives the talent strategy to build and maintain a strong and diverse leadership succession pipeline

  • Assesses organizational capabilities and identifies skill gaps of key leaders. Actively participates with business leadership to source, evaluate, select and on-board talent. Coaches business leaders and their teams on the development of others to advance movement of talent across business groups.

  • Develops and administers job evaluations and annual compensation review programs, using relevant market data as needed to maintain competitiveness.

  • Builds and drives employee engagement. Advises and coaches managers on resolving employee issues. Personally manages complex or significant employee relations issues.

  • In concert with management, builds and champions a positive employee culture. Champions inclusion and diversity, strategies and plans. Provides high-touch HR support to the business.

  • Directs, recommends and proactively communicates appropriate local implementation of HR policies, practices and initiatives. Ensures legal and regulatory compliance including: equal employment opportunity/affirmative action, wage and hour, and work authorization.

  • Works actively with management on the implementation of safety programs, training, and talent metrics and reporting.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in HR Generalist/HR leadership positions.

  • Experience in all facets of human resources including knowledge of employee relations, legal compliance, employee relations and, coaching and development.

  • Experience in talent planning and management including talent assessment processes and succession planning.

  • This is an ideal role for someone who has shown success as a Sr. HR Manager or HR Director.

  • Travel is approximately 20%.
