Water Treatment Plant Operator I$16.68 per hour plus $.75 per hour shift differential for all hours worked between 6 pm and 6 am.The City of Columbia is hiring for a Water Treatment Plant Operator I for the City Utilities Department. This position will ensure proper treatment of water according to specifications on DNR permit and EPA parameters and maintain records and analysis of operation of the Water Treatment Plant in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines. Record data from meters, gauges, control panels and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system; adjust chemical feed equipment for proper chemical feed rates. Travel to assigned pump stations and well fields to check gauges and conditions and to perform maintenance. Perform other related duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent.
