Summary You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Support Division, SUPSHIP Gulfcoast Detachment of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE. THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) Responsibilities You will perform logistic management tasks involved in the development and implementation of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) policy and procedures for assigned systems. You will provide logistical support elements such as maintenance planning, supply support, computer resources support, training and training devices, manpower, support and test equipment and packaging, handling, storage, and transportation. You will resolve logistics problems by gathering facts, defining and exploring problems, and developing alternate solutions to issues addressed in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) plans. You will assist in overall configuration management/control to ensure the required logistics products are identified to maintain proper life cycle support. You will review and comment on certain logistics deliverables on a daily basis and coordinates with other logistics counterparts to ensure all concerns and proper Life Cycle Support are addressed, developed and delivered to the new construction ship. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Logistics Management Specialist experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-07 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating knowledge and skill applying policies, procedures and techniques to perform assignments concerning application Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) directives, regulations, laws, and practices. Specific work experience includes the following: 1) Assist with the review of contracts to ensure Integrated Logistics Support program requirements are met in accordance with established guidance; 2) Monitor the progress of logistics plans, making necessary corrective determinations if deviations are detected ; 3) Apply Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Management principles, concepts, and methodology to a variety of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) projects; 4) Provide practical knowledge of engineering sufficient to distinguish between logistics and engineering problems to a resolution; 5) Use written and oral communication to present Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) data findings. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree, LL.B, J.D., or have completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
