The Manager, Learning & Team Member Activation represents sports bar operations when determining learning needs and appropriate delivery method(s) of activation programs for both company and franchise teams for Buffalo Wild Wings sports bars and BWW GO restaurants. This role is responsible for designing training tools and programs that drive performance and team member engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for learning effectiveness and the development of training tools supporting Activation Initiatives, including manuals, presentation and job aids
Collaborate with various departments to understand new initiatives, identify training needs, develop training plans, and execute training initiatives accordingly.
Leverage operational knowledge as a consistent and correct resource to field leaders and operators to encourage proper alignment on procedures and knowledge
Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of Activation training programs through assessments, feedback, and analysis to drive continuous improvement.
Foster strong motivational and influential cross-functional relationships to gain alignment of current and future operational needs or training gaps
Work with cross-functional partners to develop future planning and alignment of Activation lifecycle timing
Maintain core operations eLearning with the instructional design team on necessary changes to content based on Activations
Support Operations Integration team with training support of initiatives scheduled to be tested in the field
Support and collaborate with BWW GO operators and training counterparts to understand training needs and program changes based on Activations
Provide and lead train-the-trainer support for the field training team on new and existing training programs
Support system-wide competitive programs with content and development of execution
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in training methodologies to incorporate relevant updates into our learning programs
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional work experience
Preferred: Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT)
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years in sports bar/restaurant systems role
Two years in a learning and development role or field level training role
General Manager restaurant experience highly preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES:
Strong written and verbal communication, project planning and management skills; demonstrate ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
Demonstrated experience identifying needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results/recommendations.
Strong project management skills using effective time management to balance short and long-term projects.
Able to balance creativity with realistic practical scenarios.
Ability to work cross functionally in a matrix organization.
Able to organize, simplify, condense, present and sequence content effectively.
Packs maximum meaning into minimum words that are simple, relevant and keep the end user in mind.
Conceptually and intuitively understands how people learn and ensures final content helps the learning objective.
Guest Service approach in attaining desired results.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Advanced ability to create and design in PowerPoint.
Able to execute pre-defined processes from detailed written or verbal instructions and apply knowledge of the process for follow-up and troubleshooting.
Basic understanding of graphic design, instructional design and eLearning development preferred.
