ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Shift Lead position will serve a key leadership role in the plant and will be responsible for the training and enforcing of health, safety, quality, and work rules of all production team members.

Collaborates closely with the operations team to improve productivity and efficiency by setting production, safety and attendance expectations and maintaining a continuous improvement mindset.
. Promotes a proactive safety culture and environment.
. Proactively leads team in compliance with all company rules & policies.
. Supports Quality, Safety & Environmental team systems to ensure employees perform to job specific work instructions.
. Coordinates employee coverage for areas of absenteeism/vacation or other production needs.
. Maintains machine and production schedules and ensures schedules are followed.
. Troubleshoots production issues and escalates issues as required.
. Reports daily personnel, quality, safety, production, environmental, and maintenance issues in compliance with regular business processes and individual circumstances.
. Performs open jobs where needed in production areas.
. Leads training efforts for team members by providing ongoing feedback and participates in annual performance evaluations.
. Identifies production-related issues and facilitates timely and effective issue resolution.
. Ensures cleaning house tanks are operating within specifications and dump tanks as needed.
. Maintains WWTP to ensure limit compliance within POTW permit.
. Ensures HCL & Sulfuric Scrubbers are meeting the requirements of Ohio EPA permit.
. Other responsibilities as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
. High school diploma, or GED required, Associates or bachelor's degree preferred.
. Prior leadership or supervisory experience required; 4+ years operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
. Strong leadership skills, including problem-solving, employee motivation, conflict resolution and effective delegation.
. Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, maintenance instructions and standard operating procedures.
. Basic mathematical ability.
. Forklift Certification.
. Ability to complete routine production reports.
. Ability to understand safety rules & regulations and facilitate compliance.
