Electrical Engineer (PNT)
We are currently seeking individuals with experience in Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT), Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Global Positioning System (GPS), or other RF or satellite communications engineering to join our team in Beavercreek, OH. As a PNT Engineer, you will be responsible for designing approaches for hardware in the loop testing of GPS and GNSS receivers, physical setup and measurement of results, as well as analysis and reporting of the findings. This job also includes interfacing and communicating clearly with customers and co-workers. Responsibilities
Perform multi-disciplined engineering and analysis primarily in the areas of Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT), Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Communications, signal propagation theory, or electronics. The types of activities supported include scenario development, simulation, static lab testing, hardware-in-the-loop testing, data processing, and field testing.
Tasks include developing and planning technical approaches and assessing program resources, system performance, and risks. The individuals should provide in-depth research and apply first order principles predominantly in the areas of communications theory, analysis, problem or task approach development, troubleshooting, and/or technical support for operations/test planning and prediction.
Provide engineering and technical direction for problem definition, analysis, constraint development and implementation for complex systems required to meet technical requirements. Activities include making recommendations and advising on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts. Performs risk assessments and analysis employing modeling and simulation techniques.
Author reports, develop and provide presentations, plans, and contribute insights in support of the program.
Desired Job Qualifications
Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in a relevant technical field
2+ years' technical experience in communications or navigation or similar RF field
GPS or GNSS experience
Experience testing hardware in the loop
Knowledge or interest in digital design and processing or radio frequency signals
Theoretical and practical knowledge in areas of communications, navigation, electronic warfare, navigation warfare, and electrical engineering
Lab experience including but not limited to oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, soldering, making cables, populating/fixing PCBs, etc.
Experience with Linux and Windows based operating systems
Strong knowledge with Python, C#, C++, or other similar languages
Experience managing customer relations
Technical writing and verbal communications skills
Skills in working in team/individual environments
Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
