Leidos is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the Systems Administrator position for the Integrated Defensive Cyber Systems Contract.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of diverse server systems encompassing Windows, Linux, and Appliances, ensuring seamless functionality and optimal performance.
Collaborate closely with the Lead Engineer to meticulously identify, assess, and present viable options for meeting functional and technical requirements, encompassing both hardware and software solutions, fostering informed decision-making.
Efficiently manage and configure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments, optimizing user experience and resource utilization to meet organizational objectives effectively.
Document and rigorously enforce hardware standards to uphold consistency, reliability, and compatibility across server infrastructure, enhancing efficiency and minimizing potential vulnerabilities.
Oversee the management and maintenance of IP addressing schema, ensuring logical and efficient allocation of network resources, promoting scalability and streamlined communication.
Execute comprehensive security hardening measures, timely patching, and server certificate updates, while also leveraging expertise in Cloud technologies to bolster resilience and adaptability in the infrastructure.
Develop meticulous documentation for System Installation Plans and System Administration Guides, empowering stakeholders with clear, accessible resources for system setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Fulfill additional tasks as directed by Lead Engineers or Project Managers, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to contribute to the team's success across various initiatives.
Provide transparent and regular status updates in the requested format, fostering clear communication and alignment with project milestones and objectives, ensuring stakeholders remain informed and engaged throughout the process.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires BS and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team and keeping all stakeholders informed.
Strong customer-facing skills with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
Excellent research, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced use of Microsoft Visio.
Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection standards.
Extensive experience with virtualization technologies and application migrations.
In-depth understanding of virtualization concepts, including snapshots, cloning, and vMotion.
Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role, with expertise in VMware virtualization technologies (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter Server).
Comprehensive knowledge of server hardware, storage, and networking in virtualized environments.
Experience in designing and implementing scalable and high-availability VMware virtual infrastructure solutions.
Hands-on experience with deploying ESXi hosts, managing AD integrations, and configuring time and DNS services.
Familiarity with VMware licensing and its application.
Experience with VMware NSX, including installation, configuration, and migration strategies.
Must possess an IAT II or IAT III certification (Sec+ CE or higher).
Must possess an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
VMware certifications (such as VCP, VCAP, VCIX) are highly desirable.
Experience with vRealize tools such as vROPs, VRNI, HCX, and vCloud.
Expertise with metro or stretched cluster, VMware vSAN, in a standalone cluster as well as the stretched cluster and data replications.
Expertise with VMware affinity rules, High availability, and DRS as well as host patching and upgrades.
Good understanding of stretched cluster networking requirements, VMware and network ports and protocol, vSAN policies, VMware vCenter 7 and ESXi 7, and security requirements, ESXi 7 STIG and certificates requirements.
Understanding of data deduplication, compression and encryption, witness site and its rule, and nested nodes.
Proficiency in troubleshooting VMware-related issues, analyzing logs, and diagnosing performance problems.
Exposure to Oracle and SQL databases.
Service Now experience.
ITIL training and/or certification.
Active TS/SCI with full polygraph highly desired

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
