Summary You will serve as a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist in the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk (NAVSUP FLCN), of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK. Responsibilities You will ensure that automated supply and information systems are used to the maximum extent possible in order to achieve optimal results. You will coordinate to provide guidance and resolve minor and major issues between customers, NAVSUP FLCN Norfolk and the supply system. You will conduct management reviews, follow-ups and monitor to ensure corrective actions are initiated on findings. You will incorporate approved actions for new supply sources and procedures within NAVSUP FLC Norfolk. You will utilize metrics, flow charts and other analytical tools to determine areas in which improvements are required, and maintain a continuous surveillance of operations to ensure optimal customer support and alignment of personnel. You will develop studies approved by senior management, to generate applicable managerial information to improve effectiveness and accuracy of supply operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience performing Supervisory Supply Management Specialist work equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing an extensive knowledge of a broad range of supply program relationships with expertise in materials management, inventory management and supply information to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of a supply program. I have experience utilizing automated supply databases to research and develop new and improved supply methods and procedures. I also have experience supervising subordinate employees performing supply related work, assigning work, evaluating performance, and handling personnel matters. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Initiating long-range plans and strategies to improve material processes; 2) Developing studies to generate applicable managerial information to improve effectiveness and accuracy of supply operations and chairing/serving on committees to study and evaluate opportunities to improve overall responsiveness of the supply system; 3) Evaluating subordinates against performance standards, reviewing performance of personnel rated by Branch supervisors, and writing and/or approving award recommendations.
