Job Description:

Procurement of critical components is a key driver in maintaining these expectations and we have an excellent opportunity for you to make an impact in this area when you join our CI Procurement team as a Category Buyer.
In this role, you will be the primary contact between Caterpillar and the supply base for regional initiatives in the procurement of critical components for drivechain, undercarriage, fluid convenance tubes, service parts and vertical centers. You will drive commercial discussion and negotiations with suppliers ensuring we have the components needed to build our machines.
Additionally, you will support New Product Development (NPI), working with legal contracts for joint development agreements, product life cycle agreements and supplier agreements.
Specifically, you can expect to support category and enterprise strategies to drive performance excellence in:
Quality, Cost and Logistics
Supplier on/off boarding
Supplier agreements
Daily buyer workload
Supplier Performance Management
Part level Collaborative Product and Process Development (CPPD)
To be successful in this role, you must bring (Basic Qualifications) :
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university OR equivalent work experience (4 years) relevant to this role
At least 3 years of experience in purchasing, logistics, manufacturing and/or engineering

Additional Details:
This position would ideally be located in Aurora, IL; Peoria, IL; Decatur, IL; Brooklyn Park, MN; North Little Rock, AR; or Victoria, TX; however open to considering other Caterpillar facilities within the U.S. (candidates permanent address must be within 50-mile driving distance to a Caterpillar facility)
