Job Description
AECOMis actively seeking an Environmental Lead, Senior NEPA Project Manager to join our Tennessee practice. In this role you'll have the opportunity to join our interdisciplinary team to manage projects related to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance, state-level equivalent reviews, and environmental permitting. Your ability to manage NEPA projects; oversee staff; perform quality assurance and control; communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders; and write technical assessments related to NEPA compliance is critical.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise in the social, environmental, or physical sciences and experience in contributing to complex environmental studies for land use planning and environmental management. This position requires excellent communication, technical, and writing skills; attention to detail; and the ability to work independently and as a part of an interdisciplinary team. Opportunities for growth include development of client relationships, marketing and business development, and leading interdisciplinary teams on diverse projects.
Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Leads and manages the preparation of complex NEPA documents for transportation projects, land use plans, energy development projects, projects related to water resources, and other infrastructure projects
Oversee and train junior staff on NEPA and other planning/environmental requirements
Performs technical approach, quality control, data assessments, report reviews and QA/QC for work prepared by others.
Conducts research and prepares statistical reports on land use, physical, social and economic issues, and public involvement.
Conducts meetings and presents reports and other findings to public, agencies, clients, and stakeholders.
Scheduling: Aligns project deliverables with engineering and project delivery milestones; recommends priorities, schedules and funding sources to implement public improvements plan.
Perform agency consultation and ensure environmental regulatory compliance
Perform various business development functions, including proposal preparation and active involvement in industry and agency marketing outreach
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental policy, planning, economics, or a related field and 8+ years of relevant NEPA experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experienced in technical/scientific writing documentation and deliverables
Preferred:
15+ years of relevant experience with NEPA compliance, environmental permitting, technical report writing, or project management
Experience and knowledge of NEPA, Clean Water (CWA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) requirements
Experience with the ability to lead a large multi-disciplinary team; and organization, schedule and budget management skills
Experience leading Tennessee Department of Transportation NEPA related assignments

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $90,000.00 - $170,000.00.
