Supplier Engineer IV - Applied Materials

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads cross functional team to identify and develop methodologies and/or best-known methods that enable targeted suppliers within Applied global supply chain to improve their operational performance.

  • Monitors supplier operational performance, leading or/and participating in supplier assessment and review of supplier production technology and improvement roadmaps.

  • Prepares project plans and drivesthe project from conception and planning to implementation. Will participate in the development ofstrategies, processes, and resources.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and drive cross functional teams to achieve performance objectives for programs and initiatives. Interfaces and coordinates with internal customers. Provides status reports to management, stakeholders, and internal customers.

  • Responsible for managing schedule and task details by utilizing project management software (e.g. as JIRA, SmartSheet and MS Project).

  • Provides engineering and business process expertise to team and other members on various standard programs / issues.

  • Identifies and resolves potential complications within the project and develops solutions for resolution.

  • Develops educational and communication material for both internal and external audiences.

Functional Knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience in operation management and quality management in high tech industry

  • Knowledge and experience in program/project management practices in high tech industry

  • Management/administration of programs/projects from initiation/establishment, risk management, execution/status reporting until conclusion and closure

  • Project Management certification preferred

Business Expertise

  • Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services

Leadership

  • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.

Problem Solving

  • Understanding and use of various problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D, six Sigma, etc.

Communication Skills

  • Effective in both verbal and written communication

  • Presentation in diversified business environments

Impact

  • Impacts the direction, resource allocation for program and quality of own work and the work of others on the team; works within general functional policies.

Interpersonal Skills

Strong interpersonal skills and being able to communicate complex concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, other engineering disciplines or business administration with focus on supply chain management.

Experience

  • 7 - 10 years in high tech/industrial sectors with at least 3-year experience as a project engineer in program/project management.

  • Leadership experience in implementing Continual Improvement programs/projects in various operational areas

  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt or Malcolm Baldridge Examiner experience/ training preferred
