You will support the Autonomous Maritime Systems (AMS) group within the Maritime Engineering, Technologies, and Sustainment (METS) Business Unit who supports the US Navy as the primary customer focusing on enabling technologies, research and development, operations and maintenance, and sustainment activities for unmanned systems programs.

You will use your technical writing experience to prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents.

  • You will be responsible for the technical documentation of a wide variety of processes to include work instructions, standard operating procedures, status reports, program management review documents and governance documents as well as training materials.

  • You will work in a small team environment that supports configuration management activities and documentation oversight functions in support of our US Navy customer.

  • Strong planning and time management skills in order to meet customer deadlines;manage multiple contract deliverable requirements and submittals of recurring reports and statuses.

  • Maintain document repository and document tracking system for procedures, proposals, CDRLS, and other program office documents.

  • Self-motivated individual with ability to manage own responsibilities, and either work independently and/or within a group.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Some travel may be required to meet with technical Serco work teams and/or technical customers at various locations to aid in development of technical documentation.

  • You will use your technical writing experience to review upcoming new contract requirements, assemble proposal templates, interface with internal technical personnel and subcontractors, and development final proposal documentation in response to Requests For Proposal (RFPs) from Govt. contracting agencies.

  • You will use internal SharePoint sites to collect requirements, store in-process documentation, update schedules and timelines, and participate in team reviews during various stages of proposal development.

  • You will work with a shared team of business unit and corporate resources who provide proposal development support to other METS groups and Serco North America.

  • You will be responsible for assembling technical content provided by program management, team leads, and solution architects to develop compelling approaches to Govt. technical requirements in new RFP packages.

  • During proposal suspense timelines, you will be required to work extended schedules to include long days and weekends to ensure the writing developments stay on schedule and co-authors are supported.

  • Some travel may be required to attend in-person review sessions, attend BD and proposal training, and meet with other stakeholders within the organization.

Qualifications

To be successful in this roll, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5-7 years' of technical writing experience.

  • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 9 years applicable technical writing experience.

  • Experience in consulting directly with military customers.

  • Knowledge of government contracting environment and program reporting.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required; Proficiency in MS Project and Access is a plus.

  • Must have an active SECRET level clearance. (U.S. Citizenship is required)

  • Proficient in MS Office with emphasis in MS Word editing/reviewing tools

  • Excellent oral, written communications, and editing skills.

  • Detail oriented and analytical.

  • Excellent written skills in English to include grammatical accuracy and proper sentence flow

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask

  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation, paying attention to detail
