Operations Segment Supervisor - Quality Engineering and Inspection

Responsibilities/Duties:
Responsible for the management, integration, and coordination of work groups and/or units engaged in Quality Engineering and Inspection activities at customer/supplier locations.
Assists in establishing unit objectives, work plans, schedules, and ensures resources are available for completion of Quality Engineering and Inspection activities at customer/supplier locations.
Supports administrative activities (i.e., developing budgets, cost/benefits analysis).
Oversees activities of subordinates, ensures a productive work environment and department objectives are completed in accordance with quality standards, time, and budget constraints.
Advises staff on operational projects and tasks.
Supports the evaluation and implementation of changes in work procedures in assigned areas.
Supports hiring of candidates for employment.
Provides performance evaluations, recommends promotions, interprets, and applies organization policies, and monitors and resolves employee situations.
Develops and trains subordinates.
Enhances communications by facilitating team meetings.
Provides direction to staff and assists with the implementation of department and company initiatives.
Participates in the development of plans for operational improvements.
Assists in decisions that may have a major impact on the overall success of the day-to-day operations.
Supports frequent customer interaction on operational issues.
Applies application of theories, principles, and concepts to Source Inspection activities.
Participates as team member of larger business development opportunities.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree or applicable technical training and certifications with 5 years of experience specific to operational needs.
Quality Engineering and Inspection activities
In lieu of formal education, 9 years of directly related experience preferred
4 years experience in a supervisor and/or Leadership role preferred
U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.
Leadership skills, ability to counsel, coach, develop, and motivate staff of professionals.
Team building and facilitation skills.
Solid customer service, communication/presentation skills.
Additional Skills/Education Preferred:
Exhibits use of standard theories, principles, concepts, and techniques in Quality Assurance and Inspection disciplines.
Knowledge of advanced aspects of technical specialties in product inspection.
