Overview
The Enterprise Data & Analytics Adoption team within Navy Federal's Member Strategy Office leads the democratization of existing and new capabilities to the analytics end users across the enterprise. The Summer Associate will help support adoption initiatives by working with business units in their transition by validating data quality and data usability, assisting in developing reports, dashboards, and models using cloud technologies. The Summer Associate will help further strategic data goals and initiatives on an enterprise level while developing strong analytics, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2024 and ending in August 2024. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2024 or later.
Potential Project:
Work directly with project leads to understand requirements and propose key analytics solutions to drive effective decision-making and influence business objectives
Identify data patterns and trends to answer business questions and improve decision making
Perform validation checks for business unit reports and dashboards during cloud transition
Perform complex analytical statistical modeling and visualizations on large data sets to support various business operations and organizational objectives
Responsibilities
Support functional requirements for analytics and business intelligence (BI) solutions
Retrieve, analyze, and validate data and test accuracy of reported results
Work directly with project leads to understand requirements and propose key analytics solutions to drive effective decision-making and influence business objectives
Analyze and summarize business operations, customer, and/or economic data in order to improve business intelligence, optimize operating effectiveness, and predict business outcomes
Collaborate with business units and senior management to conduct needs assessment to support business unit objectives
Effectively communicate data outcomes to business stakeholders and leadership
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, Analytics, or other related degree
Exposure to scripting languages (Python, R, etc.)
Experience with SQL
Experience with data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau)
Knowledge of cloud technologies (Databricks, Microsoft Azure)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Experience working with ambiguous problems
Curious and excited to collaborate with various business units
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report onsite 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting onsite will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and onboarding process.
