Engineering Team Leader - Athens Distribution Area
Location: Gainesville/Cornelia/Clayton HQ's. Candidate must live in or be willing to relocate to a commutable distance from Cornelia headquarters (0-75 minute drive or 0-60 miles) . Relocation assistance will be available if needed.
Job Summary: The Engineering Team Leader will be responsible for providing leadership, direction, and performance management for distribution activities to direct reports within the Cornelia & Clayton Operating HQ's. They will also manage an engineering area. They will provide safety leadership, budget management, construction scheduling, and compliance measures where needed and contribute to reliability and capital improvement strategy in the Distribution Area. The successful candidate will also be a technical expert, leading engineering on large scale, high impact projects in the area while demonstrating world class customer service. In addition, they will be expected to participate in and lead region wide initiatives, projects, and committees, as well as to be an active participant with the statewide Engineering Supervisor team and other out of town meetings. This role will participate in the on-call rotation and may lead region storm teams to on system and off system storm events.
Education Requirements
Engineering degree is a plus.
Professional Engineering license a plus.
MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
Experience
Leads in Safety Excellence and knowledge of Section "0"
Five years of Distribution engineering experience in a power utility company is preferred
Five years of Power Delivery engineering experience in a power utility company is preferred
Must have proven Time Management experience involving multiple projects and customer requests.
Experience in SERP restoration efforts required
Storm team leadership experience preferred
Experience with engineering design, construction and maintenance, compliance, managing manpower, reviewing job estimates, and asset management in a power utility company
Experience with IBEW covered personnel, system design experience, and serving on committees at a statewide level is preferred.
Previous experience designing and presenting large and complex projects in a power utility company to higher level management for approval is preferred.

The position requires an in-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems as well as distribution requirements, practices, and procedures
Ability to act as a technical specialist is required
Customer service focused with the ability to negotiate to match customer needs with company requirements
Broad understanding of the company's operations, policies, and procedures
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of TCMS, ARCOS, CSS, JETS, and strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
Must be able to lead and develop a diverse workforce, maximize team effectiveness, set high expectations of those around them and hold employees accountable for those expectations
Must have the ability to work through customer concerns and communicate resolution to all parties

This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:
- Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver's license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver's license).
- Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
