Description
The individual hired for this position will work as part of an engineering team to design, develop and collaborate with the system and harness design teams to develop and release Large Wheel Loader and Compactor Wheeled Dozer electrical systems and schematics that meet Caterpillar design standards.
Job Duties
Designing electrical systems for Large Wheel Loaders and Compactor Wheeled Dozers using Creo Schematics tool
Design and release of electrical schematics
Participation in Electrical System FMEAs
Perform and participate in Electrical system, schematic, and harness design reviews
Perform Electrical System Load Studies
Writing and Performing Electrical System Functional Tests
Print detailing in support of electrical component and schematic print releasing
Support of machine builds and machine electrical troubleshooting
Strong communications and collaboration between harness designers, electrical system designers, harness manufacturers, component engineers, and Global Purchasing.
Support wiring harness installation audits
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of a Two-year Associates' degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Technology, or equivalent demonstrated experience in the design and development of electrical systems for earth moving or similar equipment.
A demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, communicating technical information across departments and business units while driving design activities with a minimum of supervision.
Familiarity with electrical, and electronic components and their function in electrical systems.
Strong communication and organizational skills
Top Candidates will also have
Previous experience in earth-moving electrical system/harness design/development.
Experience with Creo Schematics
Experience performing design FMEA's
Familiarity with Caterpillar engineering standards, electrical systems design guide, and checking/releasing processes is a plus
Visio Experience
BSEE or equivalent experience
Additional Information
The location for this position is Mossville, IL.
Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.
This position may require up to 10% travel.
