Job Description:
Caterpillar has a Cybersecurity Manager position responsible for Threat and Vulnerability Management of a global network. This is a cybersecurity management position responsible for ensuring continuous vulnerability lifecycle management within the Enterprise including monitoring, collection, reporting, ticketing, and assessment of impact for vulnerability related data and emerging threats.
Manager, Vulnerability Management is responsible for managing a team of vulnerability assessment and remediation professionals and supporting operational teams in their remediation and risk management efforts.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent will lead by forming strong partnerships with technical and operational teams, software owners, and asset management. Provide guidance, awareness, and prioritization to control vulnerabilities in the environment in a timely and effective manner.
Drive actionable metrics and reporting for operations and leadership transparency.
Manage resources performing continuous scanning, prioritization, and reporting of vulnerabilities throughout on-premise and cloud-based environments across both enterprise and service provider networks.
Influence cross-functional, cross-department teams in remediating security vulnerabilities, ensuring regular communication of status and work products mitigate the intended vulnerabilities.
Manage a team for the monitoring for security configuration drift and partnering with operations teams to resolve insecure configurations.
Lead large-scale information security projects, including implementation and delivery of new infrastructure security scanning capabilities.
Serve as subject matter expert and thought leader related to vulnerability management and secure configuration.
Provide support on incidents and outages as necessary.
Establish appropriate objectives for the team in support of organizational goals in alignment to the Cybersecurity strategy.
Identify and recommend appropriate measures to manage risk to a level acceptable to executive management.
Provide frequent and fair feedback to employees regarding expectations and performance through recognition, coaching, etc.
Mentor and lead individuals, providing feedback and identifying opportunities for improvement.
This position requires a minimal amount of travel; up to 20% of work time.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor (4 year) degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or other degrees in related fields
5+ years of Cybersecurity or Information Security experience
At least one relevant vulnerability management certification (e.g., CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, GIAC)
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Two (2) or more years of experience in a management position.
Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or Computer Science is preferred, but not required.
Other related certifications such as GCIH or SANS/GSEC are preferred, but not required.
Proficient with ServiceNow & Vulnerability Management solutions such as: Qualys (preferred), Tenable Nessus, Rapid7.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity and the relationship between threat, vulnerability, and impact in the context of risk management.
Familiar with security best practices, vulnerability management processes, and secure configuration management.
Experience conducting enterprise-wide vulnerability scanning and remediation processes.
Prior experience managing budgets in the range of $2m to $5m annually
Demonstrated ability to build effective, cohesive, and collaborative team
This position is High-Flex permitting a balance of remote work and onsite as needed; however, must be within a commute distance of our offices in these cities: Dallas, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; or East Peoria, Illinois
