The Director position will operate all aspects of the facility maintenance at ProMedica Toledo Hospital, ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children's Hospital, ProMedica Wildwood Orthopedic and Spine Hospital and all Toledo off-site properties. Areas of operation include; the power plant, utilities, HVAC systems, electrical systems, grounds and general maintenance to assure dependable operations services to the main campus and ancillary buildings.
ACCOUNTABILITIES All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise 1. Maintains established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, preventative maintenance, safety programs, environmental compliance, Joint Commission compliance, safety compliance and infection control standards 2. Selects, trains, and orients staff. Evaluates performance of staff and makes recommendations for actions involving employee. 3. Develops budgets applicable to assigned areas of responsibility. 4. Participates in hospital management and staff meetings. 5. Maintains essential department reports, records and pertinent data for administrative regulatory purposes. 6. Maintains a high level of interaction with the entire Facility Services group in planning, organizing, directing and controlling the management of the utilities, plant operations, and maintenance services. 7. Works closely with System Construction regarding development, implementation and administration of upgrades and modifications of the physical plant of the hospitals and ancillary buildings. 8. Prepares, in coordination with the Facilities Services group, short- and long-term facility improvements and pertinent upgrades of buildings and equipment. 9. Develops and maintains currency in procedures, equipment, and systems toward the most efficient use of all energy supplies including natural gas, water/sewage, electrical power, and oil. 10. Maintains current knowledge and professional standing through appropriate seminars, workshops and professional affiliations. 11. Maintains high level of operational improvement and customer service. 12. Any and all other work assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Must have associates degree or equivalent in experience in discipline related to Facilities Engineering Mgmt. Skills: - Demonstrates knowledge of building systems, operations, and maintenance management. - Must be able to move about and between workstations. - Must be able to professional represent the department and organization during meetings and negotiations, while obtaining collaborative results. - Must be able to travel between all assigned system facilities. - Must be able to understand directions and be able to communicate and respond to inquiries and requires effective interpersonal skills. - Must be able to work in a matrix reporting structure and maintain priorities appropriately. - Must maintain a positive attitude and image while collaborating to strength the image of facility initiatives. - Must be able to lead and motivate direct and indirect reports. - Must be able to navigate building management and work order systems. Years of Experience: At least 8 years in Facilities Management or Project Management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's Degree Skills: - Ability to use basic software applications for data and presentation displays. - Ability to give presentations/reports to Sr. Leadership. Years of Experience: At least 8 years in Facilities Management or Project Management License: Relevant PE License Certification: CHFM Certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS Personal Protective Equipment: Per Policy Physical Demands: Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations. Must be able to occasionally move, lift or carry lightweight materials.
