The Manager, Financial Analysis and Planning will play a key role in Finance by providing financial and related operational support for our Secondary Education/NGL business unit, with a strong focus on the middle school and high school market and digital learning.

Key responsibilities include internal controls related to the Order to Cash process, building and maintaining data driven reporting and operating metrics, and expense management.

The incumbent should have effective communication skills with a track record of establishing collaborative business relationships with different teams within the organization.

What you'll do here:

  • Responsible for the development, maintenance and improvement of core reporting outputs, driving increased automation and consistency in information provided.

  • Assist with the Go-to-Market planning, growth strategy, business operations and data evaluation.

  • Projects and deliverables range from building a scalable reporting infrastructure, supporting the creation of the product growth strategy, and key performance metric reviews.

  • Develop scorecards and models that add functionality to existing reporting tools in an efficient manner to support key partners.

  • Extract and manage large amounts of data in multiple formats, conduct analyses, summarize and optimally communicate findings to support the decision-making process.

  • Oversee and review ISBN setup for the Secondary Education/NGL business to ensure coding is setup correctly for revenue recognition, payment to authors and partners, and financial reporting.

  • Partner with cross functional business partners to implement standard methodologies, system enhancements, and continuous improvements as it relates to the Quote to Cash process.

  • Increase efficiency and ensure scalability, document procedures and enhance a strong internal controls environment.

  • Develop detailed financial and analytical models to improve insight into business performance and support critical initiatives.

  • Perform special projects and analyses on an ad-hoc basis, as required.

Skills you will need here:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA a plus.

  • Minimum of 10 years of dynamic accounting experience.

  • Knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition (ASC 606) and contract review, internal controls / SOX compliance, segment reporting and the close process.

  • Ability to analyze problems and actively strategize to resolve such problems,

  • Good attention to detail, solid organization skills, and a proven record of process improvement and standardization.

  • Solid experience designing and instituting policies and procedures to maintain or improve strong controls.

  • Ability to operate effectively and efficiently under time pressures and meet timelines.

  • Sophisticated Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Working knowledge of Hyperion, JD Edwards and IBM Cognos a plus.

  • Experience handling large data sets using multiple databases is required.

  • Knowing how to use advanced analytical tools such SQL, Alteryx, and Tableau, is a plus.

  • High mathematical and analytical skills required, along with an ability to define problems, develop data driven analyses, establish facts and draw conclusions.

  • Ability to produce clear reports and effective presentations.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact well with all levels within the Company!
