ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services in southern Michigan and Ohio. The PBX operator serves as the communication focal point for the hospital, establishing a positive first impression to our customers. Exercises professionalism while receiving all calls to the main hospital and related areas and forwarding them to the appropriate party. Keeps accurate records of personnel affiliated with the hospital
Assist with Customer Service. Provide phone calls to assist patients, visitors and staff.
Direct emergent calls to house sup, security and all codes
Assist with Security dispatching/ begin reports for security events.
Minimum of two years phone and office experience, preferably in a hospital or similar setting.
Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations; and prolonged periods of standing.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Must be able to operate machinery.
Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs., 20% of the time.
Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.
Must possess effective communication skills as they are the first point of contact for the caller.
Must possess the ability to work in a high stress environment and exercise proper decision-making skills in pressure situations.
Must work independent and possess critical thinking skills to effectively handle emergency calls - Suicidal, Code Blue, Disaster, Bomb Threats, etc.
Requires 4-6 weeks of full time training on 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts
