As a Procurement Expeditor, you can expect to:
The Procurement Expeditor I is a service support level employee specialized in material control operations. The Procurement Expeditor performs a variety of moderately complex duties to include purchasing, stocking and distribution of parts and materials used to maintain and repair automotive vehicles and equipment. Distinguishing characteristics for this position include a proclivity to organization and attention to detail with exceptional verbal and mathematical aptitude and effective interpersonal skills.
The Procurement Expeditor I processes invoices for payment and verifies receipt of invoiced parts, materials and supplies maintaining inventory records and work documents using established electronic data systems. Unloads, stores, transports, delivers and distributes parts, materials and supplies. Deals with vendors/sales representatives, follows up on items not received and checks on item prices and availability and performs housekeeping functions within parts storage and work areas.
Incumbents work under general supervision. While workers require some supervision in most assignments, they are free to develop their own work sequences within established procedures, methods and policies. They are generally subject to periodic supervisory checks.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have:
HS Diploma or equivalent.
At least 1-3 years of relevant experience.
ASE Certification required but can be obtained post employment. Automotive and Heavy truck parts purchasing experience is required
Data Systems: Requires the ability to process, calculate, compute, summate, and/or tabulate data and/or information. Includes the ability to perform subsequent action in relation to these computational operations.
Human Interaction: Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of individuals in various situations projecting a positive, professional image. Requires the ability to explain, demonstrate and clarify to vendors and internal personnel within well-established policies, procedures and standards. The Parts Specialist must be able to follow specific instructions and respond to simple requests from supervisors.
Equipment, Machinery, Tools and Materials Use: Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or provide simple but continuous adjustment on equipment, machinery and tools such as motor vehicle, forklift, computer terminal, telephone, photocopier, printer and/or materials used in performing essential functions.
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information such as purchase orders, invoices, delivery slips, vendor contracts, material safety data sheets, parts manuals, vehicle maintenance.
This position is contingent upon your ability to pass a preemployment criminal history check and drug screen.
